A young woman named Victoria "Vic" McQueen realizes she possesses the ability to open portals that lead her to lost items. As she explores this mysterious realm, she meets various "inscape travelers," some of whom are kind-hearted while others have been tainted by their abilities. When Vic crosses paths with Charlie Manx, an immortal who sustains himself by consuming the souls of children, she becomes determined to defeat him, thus making Manx her sworn adversary.
