Lilah Krytsick, a mother and homemaker, has always harbored a belief in her potential as a stand-up comedian. Steven Gold, a seasoned stand-up comedian on the verge of achieving success, crosses paths with Lilah. Their unlikely friendship blossoms as Steven endeavors to assist Lilah, who is new to the comedy scene, in refining her stage performance. Despite facing opposition from her family and experiencing some shaky beginnings, Lilah makes progress and eventually ends up vying with Steven for a sought-after television opportunity.
