Following a presentation showcasing the new PT boats, high-ranking naval officers remain skeptical about their effectiveness in combat, much to the dismay of Lt. “Rusty” Ryan. However, after the events at Pearl Harbor, Ryan and his comrade Lt. Brickley receive the green light to deploy their squadron in real battle. The PT boats swiftly demonstrate their capabilities by effectively engaging Japanese aircraft, facilitating communication between islands, and successfully engaging numerous enemy vessels.
